Assistance in the acquisition/implementation of an Energy Management System (EMS)
Project description
STIB is the largest Belgian urban public transport company and the biggest energy consumer of the Brussels Region. As part of a European Public Transport Network Project “Ticket to Kyoto”, STIB is committed to reducing its overall GHG emissions by 19% by 2030, in comparison with 2010. In order to prepare its Carbon and Energy Strategy, STIB has mandated Energinvest to assist the company in the energy efficiency master plan development for the buildings and infrastructures. A second mission was to assist the energy team in the acquisition and/or development of an Energy Management System (EMS).
Role and Achievements
Energy Efficiency Master Plan: The mission consisted of evaluating addressable energy efficiency measures and renewable energy potential in STIB facilities (administrative buildings, train stations, tram and bus depots and workshops), developing a financial simulation model and advising the STIB in the execution and financing of the Master Plan, including EPC contracting.
Energy Management System: After an in-depth functional and technical analysis, the choice has been made to acquire a standard solution from the market. Energinvest has support the STIB in the procurement process, from technical specifications to bids negotiation. Energinvest also assisted the STIB teams in the software and hardware implementation of the solution.
